The Fayence County

Built on the side of a hill, this wonderful old town is a fine example of provençal architecture, with its steep streets and its stone houses with terracotta roofs.
This village was already well known and appreciated in Roman times, which is why it was called "favienta loca", that is, "nice place".
Influenced by Saracene invasions, Fayence was able to maintain its ancient urban setting - houses packed on top of each other, with stone walls and fortified doorways.

Fayence is an unmissable stop for all the lovers of historical towns and relaxing landscapes that are the characteristic of Provence. Its pastel tinted hills offer us the whole gamut of colours, thanks to their centenary olive trees, their lavender, their grapevines.
Fayence is also famous for its markets (especially its antiquary fair).

Fayence antiquarian fair

An unmissable antiquarian and second hand "brocante" fair in the French Riviera.
Antiquities and period pieces are exposed in a charming setting under the shade of secular plane trees, in the garden of an old provencal "bastide".
Among the many antiquary shows and market in the region, the Fayence Antiquarian Fair is amongst the most appreciated and frequented.
The fair takes place 5 times a year : Christmas, February, May, July, August and the end of October.

A small village near Fayence composed of distinctive Provençal houses and blossoming alleys.

Like Fayence, it is the area's most fascinating village, built on a hilltop and overlooked by an ancient castle.
This historical hamlet is an essential stopover for all the visitors of the Fayence region. Although it is not possible to visit the old castle, it is still a true pleasure to get lost among its steep alleys and to explore the surrounding footpaths.
This village is surrounded by hills, crisscrossed by dry stone walls and populated by centenary olive trees.

The small town of Mons, the furthest of the region, is perched on a rocky mountaintop dominating the whole Fayence valley.
This historical village, built completely of rock and surrounded by a luxuriant vegetation, deserves a visit for its fresh air and its tranquillity.

Thanks to the beauty of its landscape, its food, its history, and the opportunity to enjoy luxury services like 4 star hotels, golf, and health centres, and thanks to its prestigious antiquities fair, the region will charm you and will welcome you into one of France's most beautiful areas.
